Amelia transferred to Broward County public schools from St May’s Jamaica in 2021 during COVID. She then enrolled in South Plantation High School in the 11th grade, which compounded her challenges for meeting the graduation standard, having only 20 months before the end of 12th grade. Thrive’s team of advocates and tutors consists of educators, commercial bankers, small business owners, engineers, emergency managers, healthcare professionals, and others. The team’s educational background spans from Bachelors’s to Doctorate degrees.
